Los amantes de las bombas en formato de bolsillo (automovilísticas, claro) están de enhorabuena. El mandamás de la marca francesa Peugeot, Maxime Picat, ha asegurado a Automotive News que habrá una variante R del Peugeot 208 (http://www.motorpasion.com/peugeot/peugeot-208), situada por encima del Peugeot 208 GTi (http://www.motorpasion.com/peugeot/peugeot-208-gti-desde-22-900-euros-en-espana).
Picar no ha desvelado cuando podremos ver en la calle el Peugeot 208 R, aunque parece que tendremos que esperar al menos hasta 2015. Si el fabricante sigue la misma receta que han seguido con el RCZ R (http://www.motorpasion.com/peugeot/peugeot-rcz-r-el-leon-de-serie-mas-potente-jamas-fabricado), podemos esperar un 208 más potente, pero también más ligero.
Tal y como ya está haciendo Citroën con su gama DS, Peugeot va a poner un importante esfuerzo en ofrecer productos de mayor calidad para mantener el mercado en Europa. Un ejemplo de la dirección que se está siguiendo es el Peugeot 308 (presentación, parte 1 (http://www.motorpasion.com/pruebas-de-coches/peugeot-308-presentacion-y-prueba-en-francia-parte-1) y 2 (http://www.motorpasion.com/pruebas-de-coches/peugeot-308-presentacion-y-prueba-en-francia-parte-2)), un coche mucho mejor construido que el Peugeot 307 al que sustituye, pero al mismo precio.
