El próximo día 17 de noviembre, en el marco de la NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cuya prueba final se disputa en Miami, el encargado de liderar la carrera temporalmente a modo de Pace Car será un Ford Mustang (http://www.motorpasion.com/coches/coupes/ford-mustang) muy especial, conducido por Ramón Rodríguez. Tanto el coche como su conductor son parte del elenco de protagonistas de la película Need for Speed.
Este Mustang preparado a conciencia estará también disponible para ser conducido en el próximo videojuego Need for Speed Rivals y se diferencia de un Mustang de serie por unas llantas de aleación exclusivas de 22 pulgadas, por un kit de carrocería diseñado a medida para el vehículo y por entradas de aires más generosas para una mejor respiración del V8 sobrealimentado.
Según Ford, a nivel aerodinámico se han creado conductos de ventilación para mejorar la refrigeración de frenos, el splitter frontal ha sido rediseñado para aumentar la carga del eje delantero y en la trasera el difusor y el spoiler mejoran el flujo de aire, reduciendo el drag y permitiendo una mayor tracción en aceleraciones a altas velocidades.
