La gama de motores VTEC Earth Dreams Technology de Honda recibirá pronto tres nuevos bloques: 1.0, 1.5 y 2.0. Serán todos ellos turbocomprimidos y de inyección directa, y pasarán a formar parte del catálogo que recientemente se ha ampliado con el motor diésel 1.6 i-DTEC (http://www.motorpasion.com/honda/honda-cr-v-1-6-i-dtec-a-la-venta-desde-21-900-euros).
El 1.0 es tricilíndrico, los otros dos son de cuatro cilindros. La reducción de consumos y emisiones, por la vía de la eficiencia y las menores fricciones internas, está en la base de estos bloques de nuevo cuño. Son desarrollos nuevos tanto la estructura del motor como los sistemas turbo que se han empleado.
El primer motor de esta serie que llegará a nuestro mercado será aquel 2.0 VTEC Turbo de más de 280 CV que se anunció semanas atrás para el próximo Honda Civic Type R (http://www.motorpasion.com/honda/honda-confirma-el-civic-type-r-con-280-cv), y cumplirá con Euro 6. Por cierto, que el nuevo Civic Type R está ya rodando en la pista de Tochigi, todavía camuflado, antes de darse a conocer en el inminente Salón de Tokio (http://www.rfactor-sp.es/tag/salon-de-tokio).
