SEAT ha conquistado por tercera vez el título del Coche del Año de ABC, es decir, coche del año en España. Ha sido con el SEAT León (http://www.motorpasion.com/seat/seat-leon-2013), que se ha impuesto con 142 puntos a los otros dos finalistas, el Peugeot 308 (http://www.motorpasion.com/compactos/peugeot-308-2013) (94 puntos) y el Renault Captur (http://www.motorpasion.com/renault/renault-captur-2013) (24 votos). Se descartaron otros 27 modelos.
El jurado de 35 periodistas de motor usaron como argumentos a favor su diseño, eficiencia, tecnología y relación calidad-precio. El León ahora mismo es el segundo modelo más importante de la marca, por detrás del Ibiza. La tercera generación acumula ya 80.000 unidades matriculadas a nivel global.
Desde 1986 SEAT no conseguía este galardón a pesar de ser durante muchos años la marca líder de España, y fue por entonces con el SEAT Málaga (http://www.abc.es/informacion/coche/seat_malaga.asp). Fue el primer modelo diseñado fuera del paraguas tecnológico de Fiat. También lo lograron en 1980 con el SEAT Ritmo (http://www.abc.es/informacion/coche/seat_ritmo.asp) y en 1976 con el SEAT 131 (http://www.abc.es/informacion/coche/seat_131.asp).
