Hace cinco meses os contábamos (http://www.motorpasion.com/industria/la-colaboracion-entre-mercedes-amg-y-aston-martin-ya-es-oficial) que Mercedes-AMG y Aston Martin habían llegado a un pre-acuerdo de colaboración que debía corroborarse antes de finalizar el presente año. El pasado día 19 de diciembre, las compañías con sedes en Stuttgart y Gaydon firmaron el acuerdo definitivo que les une durante los próximos años.
Mercedes-AMG desarrollará motores V8 a medida para la nueva generación de modelos de Aston Martin que serán más potentes y eficientes de acuerdo con las necesidades actuales del mercado. Además ambas partes están estudiando la colaboración en materia de componentes eléctricos y electrónicos.

El acuerdo va más allá ya que Daimler recibirá un cinco por ciento del accionariado de Aston Martin, aunque como es lógico la británica seguirá contando con total independencia respecto a la empresa alemana. Para los que puedan estar preocupados, los coches Aston Martin se seguirán fabricando en Gaydon y los motores llegarán directamente desde Affalterbach.
