Eduardo Barreiros es uno de esos personajes históricos sin los cuales no se comprende buena parte de la actividad ligada al sector de la automoción en España. Especialmente, a él se debe buena parte del éxito de los motores diésel para usos industriales en nuestro país.
Pese a que Barreiros es prácticamente sinónimo de vehículos industriales, el acuerdo de la firma con la estadounidense Chrysler le permitió fabricar los Simca 1000 y 1200, además del Dodge Dart. Pero hay otros aspectos de la trayectoria del emblemático industrial que son poco conocidos. Por ejemplo, sus orígenes. El documental ‘Barreiros, motor humano‘, producido en 2008 por Elemental Films y La Región TV, recoge toda la épica que rodea la figura de este insigne fabricante.
