El piloto de Mercedes describía así el incidente sufrido en la Q1. "De repente vi fuego, intente ir al garaje y ver si se podía solucionar y volver a pista pero era imposible". El inglés se mostraba basante decepcionado con la situación y con la mirada puesta en la remontada.
